SA Model United Nations Team Wins Awards at NHSMUN 50

SA Model UN students in NYC

Sixteen Upper School students and three faculty members traveled to New York City to participate in the 50th Annual National High School Model UN (NHSMUN) Conference from March 7-11.

Organized by the International Model United Nations Association (IMUNA) and held at the New York Hilton-Midtown Manhattan, NHSMUN 50 consisted of over 2,000 high school student delegates worldwide. Participants explored various world issues and devised solutions through discussion, negotiation, and debate.

Saint Andrew’s students represented the delegation of Thailand and simulated roles as delegates on the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, the Convention on Climate Change, the International Organization for Migration, the Convention against Corruption, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the United Nations Children's Fund, and the World Health Assembly.

Points of pride for the Saint Andrew’s Model UN team included having many of their resolutions accepted and approved by their committees and Lydia Taylor ’24 and Bree Goggins ’26 winning the Award of Merit in their committee.

Congrats to all our Saint Andrew’s MUN NHSMUN participants.
